Parts are pretty easy to come by in Spain. Although it is the same as the Fiat it is hard to tell what is Fiat 1500 and what is from the 2300. The distributor came from an FSO and the servo unit came from a caterpiler fork lift truck in the U.S. Half the enjoyment for me is tracking down the weird and wonderful parts, paying for them is not so much fun. I have had a new propshaft coupling arrived from Spain on Friday which was another 100 quid but one less thing to go wrong. I never really bother carrying spares or tools when I go away but this time I will take a load of stuff just in case. I have got a bag of fuel filters so will change them every few hundred miles to be on the safe side. I am quite looking forward to driving it in France again hopefully it won't be as traumatic as the original drive home from Spain

Yay it made it to Le Mans and back !!!! 1000km without breaking down so things are looking up. It isn't all good news as it is running a little rough and isn't happy on a light throttle, but the fuel consumption is far better than ever. When I got it the guy said to fill it up every 200km and now it is easy doing 300km on the same amount of fuel. The exhaust blow has got a lot worse as well. Maybe that can be next months 200 quid spend on the poxy thing.

I wouldn’t trust any of my Fiat 2300’s to the end of the block, so this is a huge feat. I didn’t think it possible blue.

Yeap I put it back up for sale again as I really fancy a change for something that doesn't take all my money each month. I am in Wellington during the week and weston at weekends.

Bodywork good, mechanical parts totally worn out and replacements made from cheese.

Had a Super Minx that did the fuel thing, thankfully the fuel pump would drop the glass bowl and I could pick the crap out at the roadside, it also ate points no matter what combination of condensers, points, coil it had.

You've had patience with it, for sure. Shame to see it go, but again a relief?

yeap the young lad who bought it lives over that way. It took him ages to get home but didn't breakdown which was a result

I saw it today driving along the Norwich Road in Ipswich. Looked and sounded great and the young bloke driving it looked very pleased with himself.

Hopefully he is still happy with it and it hasn't started to empty his wallet as quickly as it did to me. Anyway this came up on one of my hearse groups.
