Hmm....doesn't really work does it? Bit like a cross between WWF and Laurel and Hardy.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Re: What did you do today?
Noted that cold this morning my water pump bearing is starting to go out.
This afternoon took apart a small engine. Piston is rogered as is the bore. Honed the bore a bit and cleaned up the ring land and piston skirt. Thing runs again now which is good didn't want to spend on buying a new one right now.

don't expect the Ferguson is a grey/ gold one, or has an aftermarket high/ low box fitted?angrydicky wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 7:36 pm The third tractor is a Nuffield, just remembered. He loaded the engine into the trailer using the Fergy's front loader. It sounded pretty good!

I have a old Homelite saw with a long bar on it, all cast aluminium, obviously pre dates chain breaks and vibration control so you need to be a bit careful with it.Drum wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 7:44 pmJust been keeping quiet about them!LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:00 pmExpect messages from Drum, Cros and probably others regarding the tractors.angrydicky wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 5:51 pm Picked up a ‘new’ engine for my A35 from the chap I got the A30 from. Also bought a big box of nos wheel cylinders and kits and there’s some very useful BMC/Rootes stuff in there I can use. Got a load of brake shoes thrown in too.
He’s got three old tractors and a car transporter trailer he wants to sell as well. I’m waiting for a price on the trailer and my dad wants one of the tractors. They’re all rough 50s/60s examples without cabs, stored outside but all do run and drive apparently. One is a Fergy with a useful front loader attachment. There’s an International Harvester and I can’t remember what the third one is. Interesting though.

It's at least couple of days since Drum bought something.
Nothing big or exciting though. Half a dozen broken petrol strimmers and a J.A.P. engine all for £8, and a nice old chainsaw. Japanese Echo. I have a newer Echo on the fleet of chainsaws and really like it. Big old Honda lawnmower too. Some other old tat as well.

No. Rust-coloured. They’ve all been sitting outside for years in a field. If I get a chance I’ll take some pictures and post them.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 1:17 pmdon't expect the Ferguson is a grey/ gold one, or has an aftermarket high/ low box fitted?angrydicky wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 7:36 pm The third tractor is a Nuffield, just remembered. Not sure about the trailer, if it’s cheap enough I’ll have it regardless but it’s very old and very heavy duty, bet it weighs a lot more than a modern one so not great for the Freeloader to tow once there’s a car on the back.

New motor museum opening not far from me (nearer Panhard65). Basically seems like some rich guy (not Richard Hammond) who decided to put his collection on show. Doesn't look like a big one but good to see stuff like this happening and worth supporting imo.

I'll probably pay them a visit in due course.
