Looking at the hours of the day when the ranting began and up to the conclusion, I suspect it was alcohol related.
I am still of the opinion that his comment directed at Nergle was totally uncalled for.
Having met him in person twice he did come across as a nice bloke.

Whatever, the takeaway I got was lack of car content and massive morass of non-car content. Which is inevitable really when you consider how this place started. You could have an active moderation team to stamp out the digression, but look at where that got us last time.

If you hold "no moderation" (except for dealing with spammers) as the ideal, then you also have to acknowledge the pitfalls of that route.

Squire and JM are eminently decent coves in the reality that exists outside of this dark hole. I don't blame them for getting the hump but on the other side of the coin as pointed out elsewhere in this thread we are what we are and although stupid comments fire into the night sky, most decent threads self-police themselves back on track.

I have a sneaky feeling JM was already mentally armed for his ripostes and just waiting for a slight tipping point in order to engage. Shame, I miss him.

The percentage of shit posts by Eddie will be much smaller than most. There's some on here where it'll be nigh on 100% utter pish. I've learned to avoid most of the inane drivel by the repeat offenders and, with those filters applied, find the place entertaining enough and often helpful.

You do realise that it's still miles below Hooli's post count (of which a few hundred must be "ook") and probably more than half of those 20k were CBW thread posts?

Like to look at your own car content out of over six thousand posts (not including any sock accounts)? The proportion I'd guess would be rather minimal against the Vile Hatred and intercontinental shagging. I'm not saying that's a bad thing like, but a bit of perspective.

I also seem to remember JM having a astonishingly high post count over on AS (47k). I'm sure 100% that every single post was of equally astonishing high quality.
