Great work.
A 10 year old car from the Angus Glens wouldn't be any better.

Part 5.
On the home straight now.
I had the bore stainless steel sleeved. This is done by boring out and bonding in a s/s tube of the correct 7/8” diameter so everything still fits. It’s not too expensive especially if you strip it down yourself and just get the body sleeved like I did.
Ran a die down the original mounting studs to clean up the threads, and fitted new nuts.
Got all the innards together ready to assemble, with a new seal kit. Fitted the original locknuts to a replacement pushrod. New reservoir baffle found to replace rotten original.

Re: Unbelievable brake master cylinder rebuild
Final part.
I had the body zinc passivated to offer a little protection.
Ran a tap down both ports to clean them up, but they weren’t bad. Mostly to get the plating out of them.
Put it back together. Fitted pushrod, circlip, boot and baffle.
I’ve bench tested it and it all works perfectly.
Within the next couple of weeks I’ll be fitting it to my A30, putting it back in use for the first time in?? however many years it’s been sat.
Looks the part though.

That's unreal. Much respect.
At say 25 quid an hour for your time how much do you think it has cost* you?

Thank you for taking the time to photo and document that, it was interesting - I'm I right in thinking you used to do this type of thing down as past parts or am I on completely the wrong track.

That's brilliant, I didn't expect you to find anything usable in there. When are you going back for the gearbox?

Your comment on the piston turning into a missile reminded me of the first time I got a seized piston out of a calliper with compressed air. The piston cleared a brand new unregistered car and landed the far side of the workshop...
