Shitty, difficult jobs on cars

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

That's reminded me of something.

Fuel pumps and/or sender replacement on X308 Jags is a tank out job the requires special tools for the quick release fuel lines and is booked at six hours labour.

That further reminds me - T2 needs engine out to replace the clutch since the daft bastards put the engine in the back facing the wrong way. Changing the accelerator cable was interesting for the same reason, as was the moment the fucker snapped and how I got it home (wedged the fast idle open on the carb and drove it).

Brake lines on a vectra C. Rear ones officially require the tank to be dropped.

I think it's more appropriate to call them push-in release. Quick release would imply tool-less.

Worst job ever? Changing an engine on a Citroen CX in the pouring rain and a hot date waiting for you to finish!

I'm just repeating what the specialist called them. He also used other words to suggest he wasn't impressed with the idea.

I had a neighbour who would go out of his way to buy any BX diesel needing an octopus for pennies as he had all the time in the world to fix them due to having decent passive income streams involving benefit fraud, washing machine rentals and wholesale amphetamine distribution.

When he dies of a brain hemorrhage brought on by being under investigation of the latter his widow asked me to dispose of a ratty late model CX diesel estate that he'd bought just for the engine.
