Never had a rover 75. Wouldn't mind a diesel auto or an early 2.5 auto in a decent spec and saloon. Mind you a1.8 turbo could be fun.

For me, the 75 is a nice car but of little interest to me as there’s still a fair few about.
A nice early, manual 1.8 would be the only one to tickle my interest but it would do nothing that my 600 doesn’t do.

They're ok if the HG has been done, properly. Nice engine.
I would imagine there's very few K series engined cars still on their original gasket in 2023. Only mega low mileage ones.

I never liked the 75 1.8 Rover -too much like hard work. The turbo was good. But all would shit their head gaskets. Give me a 620 or 820 any day.

I found my 600 to be rather wallowing in bends and very unpredictable handling. Mine was a base spec 1.8. Damn comfy though.

The 1-2-1 damping model on the revised examples was certainly soft. Not sure I'd say wallowy or unpredictable though. Soft, yes. I really miss mine.

Re: I need your help.
Mine is mega comfortable even on the shit roads around here. It's also super reliable and not needy in the slightest. Always starts and gets the job done. I've got decent quality tyres on mine and the handling seems fine to me. Although my benchmark is fairly low with the other cars on the fleet. I also don't chuck it around much! Mine is a 1998 R reg, not sure if that has the revised suspension.
The only thing which lets it down imo is the interior, Rover made no effort to 'Roverise' it at all, being carried straight over from the Accord so it's very dull inside. But it's good quality.
The 75 is much nicer inside.

Re: I need your help.
Mine was an S plate 618i so pretty much base spec. Had about 80k on clock and I bought it from my dad for 90 quid in 2007. Mine was a twat for pushing wide even at slow speeds on tight corners and front corners used to dig in mid corner. Left hand bends meant right hand dipped down quite bad and as mentioned above really pushed wide. It probably had worn shocks. Used to pogo over speed humps too. Got rid of it for an M plate 214 SLI,an L plate 214 SLI and 100 quid. Took best parts off the M plate to make the L plate a good one as the M reg had failed on rust then scrapped it and sold the L plate for 400 quid.
