2003 Mercedes E320 CDI Estate

Yesterday I went to (near) Bristol and back in the day and it never missed a beat.

This was the trip home.

But CDI no good for me if I go into Bristol. That said, the fuel consumption difference probably would easily pay the £9 a day when I need to go through it.

Lucky for me my regular trip is to Aztec west which is outside the ulez. My other half took her sister to the station - I asked if she had paid and she said “what?”. A fine came, she appealed and got it cancelled because the authority didn’t respond in time.

Righto. Had another go at the brake light switch.

Changing it was a piece of piss but the brake lights remained steadfastly illuminated together with a warning message that said “achtung brakenlighten ficken” or something.

Well it wasn't the cheap fix. Next up needs to be code reader or maybe just get someone to do it. Can't decide. Internet wisdom says it's a reluctor ring, but which one? They are cheap in themselves but a big job to change the rear ones.

I think if I was going again I'd choose an Autel. My Foxwell is alright but not the easiest to view live data. I found the same issue with icarsoft BMW for the Bini I had.

Pretty sure the Chinese scantool manufacturers rip off each other for the vehicle dataset and so they're all very similar in their functionality.
