Cars the way we remember them.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

This...

Now that NCAP are more concerned with the car trying to drive itself rather than stopping you dying in a crash, I don't believe it anymore. A car that has a touchscreen is not safe, or one that pulls you into the lane it thinks you should be in....

They still exist but they don't do much typing these days.

Other fat typist cars include Binis, Fiat 500s and Poxsters.

Just in case anybody* gets upset when I laugh at Beetles and their van derivatives and their ability to catch fire, here's ours back in the late 80's. Getting the dog and shopping out resulted in singed hair, the only reason it wasn't totally burnt to the ground was a passing fire engine (on their way back from a garage fire).

Not quite sure why we're talking about air cooled VWs burning, but the only Bay Window owned by someone I knew (the arse hole next door) burnt in the road outside our house. The fire brigade did come and put it out before it was all gone so it sat in their garden at least until we moved house. Shame as it was that nice avocado colour.

Black A4's round here. With A light smattering of Mercedes a class and a3's.

Saves driving to the fire by carrying it onboard, typical German efficiency.
