Cars you forgot you owned.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

When the father-in-law died, he was living between two states in the US. Texas and Wisconsin.

We had the titles to three cars, but only knew where to find one - a Hyundai car of some sort. A few months after he passed away, one of my wife’s cousins asked when we would like to pick his Toyota People carrier up out of the barn.

We went over, cleaned out most of the mice (the eventual buyer found a couple more during their inspection) and brought it home.

We still have the title to a 90s Cadillac, but no idea where it’s stashed. That was maybe 6 years ago now. I’m guessing someone else has it in a barn or has been using it in a field / without tabs.

Haven't forgotten any so far.

I've forgotten the reg number of one MZ 250 I had though. I don't think I've any pictures or paperwork either to jog my memory.

Come to think of it, I'm sure an MZ250 passed through my hands at some point.

Or was it a CZ175?

Whatever it was I remember the kick start doubled up as the gear lever.

Haven't forgotten any bikes or cars I have owned since I got my first digital camera. Prior to that I had no idea of exactly what I had, or the reg numbers of them.

Saying that, I do have digital photos of some bikes I owned, but failed to get a photo of their registration plate, which somehow defeated their purposes.

Took it in p/x for an Alfasud in 1993, allowed £40 on it, took it straight to Big Mikes in Darlington and got £75 for it. Fucking rubbish, even 30 years ago.
Big Mikes, now that brings back memories, we use to go to the Hartlepool/Stockton branch   as it was just down the A19. A mate paid something like £79 for a Renault Fuego.
We bought a very tidy R reg Capri 2000 Ghia auto there (Stockton/Boro) in ‘93, a white thing. £275 iirc.

The alternator light glowed permanently even though it was charging. It’s co-owner Rob called it the Credibility Warning Light.

That must have been a ford thing, my mk2 Escort did the same. Leaving the exciter wire off fixed* it without affecting charging.

I forget I own a 2011 Ford Grand C Max, because it has been sitting outside the house since July while I save my pennies to get it repaired, it having broken itself just after I splashed out on my VFR.
I did get some money saved by december, but spent it on getting the front end sorted on the VFR, I do prefer riding to driving.
To be fair I usually remember I own it when I wheel my bike down the drive every morning, it did look nice this morning with a layer of ice on it sparkling.
I should have it going again by mid way through february, if all goes according to plan.
