Ford focus mk1
Right then me old muckers. Have owned this now for a week and covered around 500 miles. My mobile mechanic mate bought a doblo with snapped cambelt so while he was stripping engine down I was in the back half inching his shelving to fit in my van!
So that brings me to what I've done. I've now no use for my lexia/pp2000 software so I told my mate if he buys oil and filters and fits them then he can have laptop with software as payment. The doblo racking has been butchered to fit 1 side of the escort. It's not staying though as I want to ply line the van but insure how to do it. I've wired in a led spot light to the load area courtesy light for more brightness and also fitted a period beacon into the wiring already in situ.
That brings me on to its paperwork,it was originally a bt fleet van for 2 years. at 2 month old it had 10660 on clock,11 month old had 26k and at 22 month or so had 44k on clock. It's only done 75 or so thousand in 17 years since.
Issues so far.
Petrol gauge has a mind of it's own. If brimmed it reads empty with an occasional flutter. After about 50 or so mile it may start registering. I was unsure if it was working the other day when it read 3 quarters. Took 24 litres so was closer to half a tank. When I started it the gauge stayed at 3 quarters then dropped to empty. 52.2mpg too isnt too bad.
Exhaust has a clang and a blow on flexi. These two I think are connected. flexi splitting allows exhaust to move further?
Apart from that it's fine. I've reinstated the bulkhead too after seeing state of my last van. I'm looking for a dirt cheap escort van or transit roof rack to modify and fit and possibly a towbar.
Take care guys..

I may have found a set of Weller style steels with ok tyres on 13 inch rims near me. May well end up sporting them soon enough

Weller wheels no go. Van pics for the perverts
Fitted an armrest from a land rover freelander with some subtle mods.
And due to being slightly deaf and no rev counter I've copied gear ranges from the owners manual
Rear bulkhead fitted
Air filter was a bit mucky and the paperwork showing high mileage in first couple of years
So that's the situation at the moment. One final mod I'm considering is this though

That bulkhead stopped the roof from caving in on my last one. It was wedged in. As can be seen on this pic.

That looks miserable as hell but at least is in harmony with the surroundings.
