My MGB was virtually untouched for more than 10 years under the car port. Having to work away at times and family, especially the kids, took precedence. It was a pisser, to use an Americanism, at the time but it was the right decision in retrospect.

I'm trying to feel sorry for you, but looking at the size of that garage and the contents of it...
You're doing alright, there.

Ha ha ha. You are right. Just wish I was there to enjoy / use it!
The hotel for the weekend is fun. We are about an hour outside of Boston. I’ve stayed here before and it was me that chose it for the decor… Still not looking forward to being the tour guide, driving everyone around Boston on the weekend. The traffic is really aggressive, but maybe once we get back to the center, I can find a nice quiet place to have a coffee while they do their tourist thing.

Still working out of a place near Boston.
One of the VIPs is meeting with a friend, which leaves me with one guy to look after.
No plans from him, so I’m going to drive over to Providence Road Island, to see if I can find any H P Lovecraft stuff there (author of a bunch of early 19th Century horror books).
Maybe he will want to ride there but still TBD, but for once, I’ve decided!!!

Re: WReXless now a chirpy cheap Jeep
So drove to Providence. About an hours drive.
Parking downtown was a NIGHTMARE. I ended up being forced into paying $10 if I wanted to stop. So I did and went to the Lovecraft specialist store I had seen on line.
It was in a cool old arcade and imagined the man himself walking up and down the place 50 or more years ago. Only to be presented with this… Shops closed. I looked on the Apple map review section for the place and there it is, open Sunday.
Went to the shop website and sure enough, closed Sunday.
Arseburgers.
Went back to the car and had a message from the team I’m looking after. One is ill and could I get them some stuff from the pharmacy. Damn!
Took another couple of pics at the store Decided to drive back via the house he wrote Call of Cthulhu in and yes, you guessed it, no parking for miles.
So I took a couple of photos from the car And set to come back. About 10mins out from the hotel I had a message. I don’t need to worry as he is feeling much better…

Re: WReXless now a chirpy cheap Jeep
Given the time I would have liked to have, but unfortunately not due to being ‘recalled’ I was lucky to just get out there - something I’ve wanted to do for a while.
What with him coming up with the idea of the Necranomicon and also reanimator, it would have been a fitting end to the quick tour!
I did listen to ‘The horror in the museum’ on my way down there. As his books are now public property, there are a good few on YouTube being read by various people.
Not his best, but fun.
This is a great short story (only 26mins) ‘The hound’ that has been done to death in more recent times, but the original idea still has some exquisite turns of phrase and background to it.

Be careful. Boston is the Liverpool of America.Broccoli wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 2:10 pm Still working out of a place near Boston.

Super nice guy, doing it in a big barn, out in the back of his property.
A bunch of retired gents roll in and out, working on cars with him and between them have done some pretty cool cars.
He has a 57 Chevy estate thing in (which had acres of metal to it) and a 57 two seater thunderbird.
A good few other cars going through, another muscle car in his spray booth which he took me around and a 40 Ford pickup in primer at the block sanding stage.
A Triumph stag he did, won an award two weeks ago in Minneapolis at a classic car show in the convention center.
He said he can put me on his list, but the current cars wouldn’t be done until Spring 2023 plus or minus to the summer.
What I really liked was him saying that I was more than welcome to come down and get my hands dirty and help out with some of the less skilled stuff if I wanted. Offered to knock money off if I did!
He is also half the price of the other place and with him showing me areas of the cars he had there and what he had done, it seemed like a win. Super nice guy too.
He says he has done some lightly modified cars to the owners taste too and showed me a few customers cars done to their requests. This is one:

Hopefully he is going to drop over one weekend in October to have a look at the 912.
I'd prefer this.
