The SiD was going off its nut as it didn't know which of the 3 warnings to give me first! Thankfully parts for these cars are still ten a penny.
One of my very first (I think the first?) guides I wrote on a forum online was how to fix the break in the rear loom these suffer:

If you get a code for a rear wheel speed sensor, then I suspect it may be that. Worth watching out for as would save trying to replace a sensor that may be fine.

Quite a dear few months ahead car-wise.

The 75 failed its MOT on front discs and pads (which I had no idea were in a poor state) and the handbrake (which I did kind of know about). All passed now but as the 75 handbrake is a cunt of a job, it wasn't all that cheap. Still preferable to the car sitting for months while I fail to muster up the gumption to tackle it in winter. Plus I simply don't have the time.

I still need to replace the rusty coolant pipe which runs from the radiator to the water pump. I have the replacement but as its not leaking yet, plus see above reason, I'll tackle it later.

The red 93 has rotted in exactly the same place as the brown one did last year. The pictures are upside down on here for some reason:

Shit design that fills up with muck.

Inexplicably, the passenger side is perfect and the same is true for the brown one. Very strange. Its pencilled in mid February with Gingernutzz who did a great job on the brown 93 last year.

On the subject of the latter, the brown 93 is due an MOT on 9th February but I'll book it in later on this month. I don't think it should need much, certainly the brakes and tyres are still fresh!

I'll need to have a nervous look under mine for that. I know the arches can go on them but thought elsewhere was generally sound.

Doesn't look like too big a job right enough.

Davie did this on the brown 93 and he didn't charge much.

A relatively clean pass for the brown 93 today:

I'm really happy with that.

I'm now more actively on the lookout for another car for my wife. We would both really like a TT but finding a reasonable one within my budget is proving difficult.

I'd still like a 93 on the fleet but I'm torn on which one to keep.

The red one has had the replacement engine and chain, plus a gearbox service and goes great. I like autos but that means it doesn't pull half as well as the manual. It also still has the battery light on but because that will put folk off, it seriously limits its value. The brown one pulls much stronger but is higher mileage, in its original chain and clutch. Its worth much more than the red one though and would replenish my funds more after buying a new car.

What generation and body style? They all vary pretty widely.

MK2 is more reliable than MK1. Interior is a nicer place to be too.

Roadsters leak quite a bit and far more than a coupé.

Coupé is 2+2 but the back seats are pretty much useless except for small children.

Roaster is 2 seat only.

I'd be looking for a MK1 hardtop as I'm not a fan of the MK2 or the roadster (the latter is a bit feminine). The back seats aren't that important as my wife will use it for work, the occasional school run if its wet and shopping. We will use any of my other 3 cars for the weekend as they are full 4 or 5 seaters.

That's a bit of a loaded question haha!

I'm a tight Scotsman but I also know you don't get something for nothing.

It would depend what you want to ask!
