Nice trip. Reminds me of the Shite in the Lakes meet a couple of years ago where I first met Hooli and John F, we just had a day driving perusing Lakeland Motor Museum and driving about the Lake District, improving the climate tenfold.

Especially as at the end of the day some hhhhhh bloke in an Isuzu Piazza and I bombed back down a private road from somewhere near Tebay Services to Greater Manchester, doing ***mph, pushing the limits of the Rover 216, as there's bugger all downforce and the nose starts to lift if you go much faster. The climate improvement was unsurpassed as yet by me, the Rover did about 18mpg on that stretch. In a 112bhp 1.6 fourbanger.


I'd be all for some climate improving expeditions.

It is a bit baffling. I mean, we were there on a Bank Holiday weekend. You'd expect something like this being awash with balloon silk clad hoards of cyclists, that motorised two wheeled scourge and 63 seater Neoplan loads of Dr Scholl equipped senior wanderlusters. But no, we were alone for the most part, save for the odd Germans doing sustainable tourism.

We were in the Elan Valley and mid Wales coast. Very little traffic or tourists. Thank goodness for shitholes like Blackpool to keep the masses away from the nice places

It was a great tour, I particularly enjoyed that immaculate train station which appeared out of nowhere, and the trees in a brick circle with strange words carved into them.

I got a bit car sick in the last quarter. I don't know if I can blame the Peugeot for that since I was also carsick on Tuesday night and Wednesday, despite not being in a car.
