Before the Astramax took the throne, there was the lowly 1.6L Cortina Estate. Not only the fastest vehicle on the motorway, it was also capable of night-vision mode - able to do a ton in thick fog whilst loaded to window height with photocopier supplies and with the fag lighter permanently pressed in....You could only do this, mind, in "Coat-Hook" spec. No coat-hook, no dice.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

I can fully endorse this. I had two 1.6L estates, a MkIV and a MkV as my company car when I was a medical rep. Both fast as fuck in the fog (both outside fog and interior smoke fog).
