Re:Another Hideous Yank
Here's an introduction to my Buick, I'm still not sure why I've bought it, I was looking for an XM V6 auto but this came along cheap.
Here it is on day of viewing: And here it is after scraping the filth off: Bonnet action is cool : It drives as you'd expect, very smooth and comfy in a straight line, just forget about trying to go round corners.
More pics in a mo when I work out how to resize images...

Re: Hideous Yank
Apparently Hoolies done the thankless task of upping the image size so here's some more pics
Interior shots as requested: 3.8 litre of American power* Off course as it was cheap that means it's a little fucked so I've had to order a load of bits from America. Parts prices are mega cheap, discs are 12 dollars each for example, but postage and import duty virtually doubled the actual parts cost. Parts did arrive quickly though.
I hope I've ordered the right bits because I took it up to my tame mechanic yesterday: He'll be fitting the new discs, pads, callipers, rear cylinders, ball joints, track rod ends and exhaust system.
While he's at it the engine and transmission are getting new fluids and filters.
It failed the emission test so hopefully a good service, new cat and lambda sensor will sort that out.
While it's on the ramp it's getting a good clean and a spray with waxoyle black.
When it's passed the CT (MOT) I can then get on with getting it French registered.

Re: Hideous Yank
What a depressingly miserable pile of half arsed shit.
It's not for sale by any chance?

Re: Hideous Yank
Beats coming back with an XM, though.....
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......
Re: Hideous Yank
I'm waiting for you to get an auto R16, then I'll swap it for that
Seriously though it will be for sale at some point after I've got my monies worth out of all the bits that are being bolted on.

Re: Hideous Yank
I'd have thought you are much closer to the never dwindling source of R16s in whatever flavour.
The chances for me getting an auto one are practically non existent. I may upgrade to a TX eventually, but only in five on the tree flavour for sheer raving bonkersness.

Re: Hideous Yank
Nothing wrong with that
Always loved these C body cars they are just about the right size to be an alternative to euro saloons only thing is they feel very 70's but yu still have to pay Tax and MOT over here on them
Boo Hoo
Waiting for the day they are exempt from the lot of it and ill have one then

Re: Hideous Yank
I always found they are darn good cars if you can look past the naff styling. Mine were mostly Olds and not Buick flavoured, but I think the various badging is about the only difference between Divisions on these.
