What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Apparently if they have reserves they won't be below the lower estimate. I suspect they will struggle to sell much going by previous results and guides. That Austin is a charity lot so could pull strong money due to that. I am sure I will be proved wrong and it will all sell at way over estimate but the market is weird at the moment. The panhard I would be happy to pay the lower estimate but I am a bit concerned that by leaving a bid they will start it at my max. I will try and follow it online but as I will be in the que to board a ferry at the time it goes through I expect I will miss it.

I was hoping that it being a smaller auction and less known auction house, stuff might end up going for a bit cheaper.

The 1100 looks very good.

And yes, they are vastly better than a Mini.

I've been to the museum twice (first time during COVID) and obviously being an 1100 I took photos. Yes it does look to be a really nice example.

Low spec 2dr with a central Speedo. Rare.

Treated it to a wash. Couldn't help myself triggering a few people on Facebook. Admittedly these are worth a fair bit more than they are over here and so much more treasured.

If you're going to get a 1100, then that looks a good one to go for. Low miles & unmolested, it's always easier to fix stuff when you don't have to undo bodges first.

The 1100 Deluxe 2 door was the only ADO16 to have the Mini centre speedo. 1300 2 doors all had the offset strip speedo or three dials (MG) and iirc the only SuperDeluxe 1100 was the four door. There were quite a few around and the centre speedo carried on into the Mark III.

The colour is almost certainly Bedouin. It looks an outstanding example and if you can get it for 6 grand or less, I'd sell something to make room for it.

It needs to be garaged of course. What a lovely thing.

Mathewsons have a 1966 MG1100 in Connaught green but it's been painted with a hoover or a roller. It might flat and polish but it'll never be what I'd call 'nice'.

Looking at the price lists in my 1100 club book, I think the MK2 had a 2dr 1100 super deluxe but the MK3 didn't.
