Gah sorry to hear it's causing grief again.NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 1:31 pm Realised why I don’t like VAG shit and rarely entertain it. Daughter No3 ‘s TT again, this time it broke down in Cambridge on Sunday . 11hours for the RAC to recover it 50 miles and diagnose a broken injector, my man Waseem put 4 new plugs and one coil pack in it and it’s right as rain. Of course she’d got no money so I’m £120 down on the day - this is why the rest of the family fleet is Merc, BMW or Porsche, fuckin Dubshit
Damn thing was rock solid with me! I can't remember if I did plugs on it. I think I didn't as according to the paperwork they weren't due for a change as platinum long life. Coil pack is a standard VAG failure item though...
(BTW Porsche parts bin an awful lot of VAG!)

Re: What did you do today?
Brake caliper and airbag module for the Z4 only arrived today despite supposed to being here yesterday. Today is a gym day so I haven't had much spare time to do much on it. However I stuffed the left airbag module into the car to see if the car could talk to it.
Yes is the answer. This is good as it means the wiring is good. There are a whole lot of errors in it as not paired to the car and it thinks it's a E65 (6 series convertible). I need to sort an old laptop out and install some BMW specific software to properly code it in.

You could hardly see the joint in the film just before he rubbed the spray off of the light.paulplom wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 6:30 am What's that stuff then?

I can't contort myself under the dash to undo bolts for the servo. My friend helps me and does the heavier stuff underneath as I cannot get under or crawl on my back anymore.

Re: What did you do today?
I got around to cleaning and then selling my late dad's car.
I got £9900 for it via Arnold Clark, no hassle at all and should be in my mums bank account by Friday.
Its just a car to us but when my mum saw the red colour of it through the frosted glass it reminded her of my dad being home. I was fine when I was at AC but in the car home I broke down a bit.

Harder than it seems, doing something like that. Just an everyday transaction but for the emotional side. Good to get behind you, though. I did see my grandfather's Metro around quite a bit after he passed away and it was nicer to see it out on the road than in his garage still waiting for him....
