I am not sure but I don't see a future with electric. They just seem to be the only answer according to governments but they will never be able to make enough of the bloody things and make them to last. Remember 20 odd years ago when government was saying diesel is the future. The cunts have no idea.

I think they have their niche place, but that place is not too replace the normal internal combustion vehicle for a large number of users. A HGV EV for example is a complete waste of time IMOpanhard65 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 7:52 pm I am not sure but I don't see a future with electric. This is interesting and something I've been thinking, will EVs live to be classic cars or will dead battery/software kill them off sooner?

I think all moderns are at a point where software issues or the shear complexity of systems will kill off the majority except for those owned by someone like SiC

That's partly what's putting me off replacing my missus' car.

My two bosses both had Tesla Model S ……full fat long range and super quick. I’ve driven them and have to say they are fucking quick and very clever……the auto pilot thing works really well.
Both recently came to end of contract……they was some wrangling as they wanted to extend and Tesla said no. This ended up with ones of the cars ceasing to function…..at all…..not even allowing the doors to open. On the last day of operation it made it into work….a regular place it was parked. And that was it.
Tesla response was to require him to arrange recovery to which he responded fuck you. There followed several attempts to recover it over the next month or so. In the end they had to send a tracked robot to get it onto a slide bed…….great bit of kit…….probably expensive though
