Code reader arrived - stop the presses, it's the right rear sensor apparently - although I expect it's the reluctor ring that has rotted away as they seemingly all do.

Yeah apparently the sensors themselves are incredibly rare to break. Almost invariably the rings apparently.

Well that ABS issue is a little insignificant now - as the turbo has blown.

It makes a comedy noise and Greta would die if she saw all the smoke coming out of the back - I am embarrassed to drive it home really, but have no choice.

I think it will be getting scrapped as I am not sure it's worth the outlay for a new turbot.

Wonder if it's worth robbing the tow bar off it?

Deffo the turbot & not just a split hose so it's dumping boost after the sensor?

Turbo is at the top and in the V isn't it? I.e. possibly reasonably accessible to replace.

Not the V engine - it’s the straight six. Looks decent access.

No deffo turbo seals - piles of oil getting sucked in and burnt.
I haven’t personally inspected it but the garage is a decent one and they say there is acres of play in the shaft - also you can hear the turbo screeching away.
