Toyota Corolla reliability?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Ulez winner and loser …..
The mrs 2002 1.6 Corolla still going ok , and much to my amazement is ulez compliant , so that gets to live a long and hard life with her driving it .
I should really put this in the grump thread I’ve got to get rid of my work van 😢
Its the only new van I have had and have enjoyed every mile 81000 I’ve driven in it in the nearly fifteen years 2008 I’ve had it , it’s a vw transporter people hate them people love them , I thought I would have it till I retired.
It’s a slippery slope I was looking at Toyota hybrid today …… I don’t know what to do .

Sorry to hear that. Depriving somebody of a reliable and sustainable vehicle in the name of greenwash is but one of the many ironies surrounding this ULEZ pish....

Buy a petrol transporter? Rare thing admittedly.

I think I'd much prefer a near silent, smooth automatic hybrid if I was having to deal with city traffic everyday for work.

Had a test drive in a hybrid Toyota Corolla touring sport (estate)
the boot is big enough for three tool bags and stuff and you can still close the cover and it’s got roof rails for rack bars , I’m 6’2” and fit in the front comfortably and still can sit in the back behind my seat .
Really easy comfortable drive , good over potholes etc , smooth acceleration and easy to park .good mpg .
A big decision was made and a deposit left , this one got to last me till I retire.
I picked it up Friday and have been driving it for a few short journeys , it’s a great drive in south London north Kent traffic and roads 49 mpg and 73 mpg late night on the A22
