If it comes on and goes out and isn't blatantly obviously modified then it passes. Signetics_NE555N.JPG Back in the day when I worked at a Volvo dealer the done thing was wire it to the alternator warning light so it went out on start up. Or that might have been the ABS light, it was that long ago....
